UPCOMING EVENTS


EVERY TUESDAY MORNING BREAKFAST
Join us every Tuesday morning for breakfast at 8:00 a.m. at the Village Inn located at 102 West 6th Street in Glenwood Springs. Look for the loud group having lots of fun!


EVERY SUNDAY EVENING NET
   Join us every Sunday evening at 8:30 p.m. local time for an an informal style information and general Net. Check in on 146.88, 146.67 or 447.1 (click here for offset and PL details).
   The net covers a great portion of the Western Slope of Colorado utilizing the SCARC's repeater system and the Grand Mesa Repeater Association's repeater system.
   The net consists of announcements, general check in, ARRL Audio News, and all those checking in are given an opportunity to speak to the net. Visiting stations are welcome and all Amateurs are encouraged to participate.


SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 12    OWL CREEK CHASE COMMUNICATIONS     Approx. 8 a.m. - noon
      We provide communications support for this cross country ski race which goes from Snowmass to Aspen. Hams are spread out along the race course and communicate with Net Control.
     Contact Sue (N0DBY) at sue@sopris.net for more information. Good opportunity to hone your emergency communications skills. PLEASE HELP - WE NEED 9 VOLUNTEERS! 


SATURDAY, MARCH 10     CLUB MEETING      10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
     Held at US Bank, located next door to Safeway in Glenwood Springs. The meeting room entrance is the set of glass doors left (South) of the main entrance.
     Equipment questions answered; bring your manual and equipment. VEC testing will be offered after the meeting ($15.00). If you wish to obtain a ham radio license or upgrade your current license, please come join us.
     All hams and non-hams are welcome to attend.

SATURDAY, APRIL 7     CLUB MEETING      10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
     Held at US Bank, located next door to Safeway in Glenwood Springs. The meeting room entrance is the set of glass doors left (South) of the main entrance.

SATURDAY, MAY 12     MS RUN/WALK     7:30 a.m. to noon (approx.)
    
Operators are needed for communications. Location is No Name to Grizzly Creek (on the bike path). We need 4-5 operators with 2 meter handhelds. At least 1 operator should have a mobile rig (20-50 watts). Pancake breakfast will be served by the Kiwanis Club starting about 7:00 a.m.

SUNDAY, MAY 20     FOXHUNT – POTLUCK – ANTENNA CONSTRUCTION
      This fun annual event is not to be missed. Come use your two meter gear on the foxhunt, eat great food and see a demo/help build an antenna or two. VE FCC testing available.

JUNE 22-24     FIELD DAY WEEKEND
     Ski Country Amateur Radio Club (SCARC) Field Day is a fun way to participate in a nation-wide emergency preparedness operation. Our Club will be teaching operating techniques and skills. We provide help to all operators and everyone operates. We help with making contacts, using the radios and antennas, and using computerized contact logging. Location is again in Missouri Heights.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 18     RIDE FOR THE CURE COMMUNICATIONS

OCTOBER 13-14     BOY SCOUT JAMBOREE ON THE AIR (JOTA)
World wide event!


OCTOBER CLUB MEETING     10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

     We host the CCARC (Colorado Council of Amateur Radio Clubs) semi-annual meeting. This will be held in conjunction with a swapfest in the morning and their meeting in the afternoon. We need a volunteer to coordinate with CCARC and arrange a location for the swapfest and meeting. Contact Bob (bobl@sopris.net) for more info.
